- The 2022 legislative session does not have an official end date. However, the per diem for legislators ends on April 19.
- Bills signed by the Governor normally go into effect on July 1 unless another date is specified in the legislation. Some bills contain provisions with different enactment dates.

SF 2361 | Workforce/Housing Omnibus |
- On March 31, the Senate Ways & Means Committee struck several divisions from this legislation that the League opposed, including Division 10 on state building code preemption, Division 8 on veteran's property tax credits and Sections 1 and 3 of Division 1 on 4/5ths nonconforming use preemption.
- Please reach out to your Senators and thank them for amending this legislation in a positive way. Please contact your House Representative and urge them to adopt the Senate amendment.

HF 2562 | Mobile Home Property Tax Exemption |
- Provides protection and benefits to mobile home park residents such as mandatory notification windows, denial of rent or sale agreements and exemption from the Mobile Home Square Footage Tax.
- An amendment has been filed which replaces Division 9 and strikes the $9 million tax shift contained in the square footage tax removal language. The amendment allows for the replacement of a nonconforming use in certain circumstances.
- This amendment has not been adopted but shows positive progress to remove negative impacts on local governments.

HF 2574 | Length of Service Award Program |
- Establishes an optional Length of Service Award Program (LoSAP) for the purposes of providing a retirement benefit for volunteer public safety officers.
- Passed out of the House and will be sent to the Senate for consideration.

SF 2374 | Alcohol Retail Licenses |
- Makes changes to the designations and applicability of various alcohol permit licenses, including fees. According to LSA’s fiscal note, this will entail revenue decreases to both the state’s general fund as well as local governments. However, due to variables that are unable to be predicted, specific decreases cannot be estimated.
- Passed out of the Senate and sent to the House, where this legislation will need to be given a subcommittee hearing.

SF 2285 | Fireworks Sale Regulation Preemption |
- Firework zoning preemption was amended into the bill on the House Floor, prohibiting a city or county from regulating or restricting the location of permanent buildings or temporary structures used for the sale of consumer fireworks in any location zoned for commercial or industrial purposes.
- Prevents a city from requiring a property’s consent to annexation in exchange for granting a zoning change within the two-mile border outside of city limits.
- Passed out of the Senate and will now be sent to the Governor for her consideration.
- The League is registered in opposition.
