- The American Rescue Plan reporting continues and local governments should be aware of the necessary deadlines in 2022.
- After working with the National League of Cities and hearing from city officials across the country, the U.S. Treasury has updated its reporting requirements to allow cities to make the "standard allowance" even if this supersedes their prior decision.
- The Iowa League of Cities has compiled resources on the American rescue Plan Webpage.

- Representative Bobby Kauffman, who represents Johnson and Cedar county, has been named Chair of House Ways & Means. This committee handles tax issues and is considered one of the most important and influential committees.
- Representative Kaufman formerly was Chair of State Government and has been in the legislature since 2013.
- Other changes in committee chairs will be announced prior to the 2023 legislative session.

- The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) will be led by Dr. Matt Behrens, formerly the interim CIO.
- The OCIO is responsible for managing and delivering infrastructure services to state, count, and local governments, including managing broadband grant programs administered by the state.

- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is asking all cities to fill out a Clean Watershed Needs Survey to gauge funding needs around Iowa. Your city should have received email from CWNS@epa.gov.
- Nothing within this survey is binding or requires a commitment from the city once filled out. Additionally, communities that may not have gotten the email or need help filling out the survey can contact Jim Oppelt at oppelt@dnr.iowa.gov.
- The previous deadline of July 15 has been extended to allow for additional submissions.
