- Although per diem expired on April 19, the Legislative session has not yet adjourned. Prior to gaveling out Sine Die, the House and Senate need to reach an agreement on the state budget.
- Legislation that the Governor has signed becomes effective on July 1 unless the legislation provides for an alternative enactment date. A list of all bills passed during the 2022 session is available on the Legislative website under the enrolled bills section.

SF 2285 | Firework Zoning Preemption, Pre-annexation Agreements, Planning and Zoning Board Membership Requirements |
- Prevents a city or county from regulating or restricting the location of permanent or temporary structures for the sale of fireworks in areas zoned that are commercial or industrial.
- The fireworks section of this legislation is effective as of April 21.
- This legislation also prevents a city from requiring a property owner to sign a voluntary annexation agreement as a condition of granting a change of zoning outside of city limits.
- It also adds additional requirements for county appointees on city planning and zoning board if a city has extraterritorial zoning authority.

SF 2322 | Cost of Redacting Public Records Requests |
- Requires the custodian of a public record to provide any document request which can be obtained in 30 minutes or less at no charge other than for copying. Requires all attorney fees for review of records to be reasonable. Limits legal review of public records requests to information that is confidential. Allows the reasonableness of any fee to be challenged and allows attorney fees for someone who successfully challenges the reasonableness.
- This law will be effective July 1.
